RJ Abarrientos Resets UAAP Season-High Scoring Record In FEU Loss To NU

RJ Abarrientos hits his stride in the first 3 quarters scoring season-high 33 points mainly from 3s erasing Sherwin Concepcion's previous high of 25 points. However this was not enough to contain the NU Bulldogs in the 4th quarter. NU dumped it inside where their veteran bigs outhustled their FEU counterparts. RJ Abarrientos started the game hitting a 3 but unfortunately for FEU, they were not hitting 3s in the 4th quarter. JL Clemente scored inside and outside while Michael Malonzo, Shaun Ildefonso and Robert Minerva were battling for the boards and getting free throws and Ernest Felicilda hitting from 3, the Bulldogs come back from a 58-38 3rd quarter deficit to tie it all up at 65-all  with 2-1/2 minutes left in the game. The rebounding tenacity of Malonzo gave NU the lead and capped the game with an 8-3 salvo. Import Issa Gaye didn't play much who was recovering from injury while FEU didn't capitalize on the advantage of Emman Ojuola inside. Clemente scored 18 points while Malonzo added 14, Ildefonso 13 and Minerva 9 for the Bulldogs. Following Abarrientos 33 points were Royce Alforque 13 and LJ Gonzales 9 for the Tamaraws.
