PLM University of Life

I studied Bachelor of Science major in Civil Engineering at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM). It is translated as The University of the City of Manila. I can tell you it was a culture shock from my high school days. PLM like in anything else was divided into factions. There were graduates of private and public school. I was a daywalker you know if you know The Blade. I mean i studied at private and public schools. My high school Manila High School section 3 was represented by me and Liezel San Gabriel. She probably took Business Management. Manila High section 2 was represented by my college blockmate Teddy Hernaez, one of the neatest dressers i have ever seen - starched and ironed shirts the works, and Dexter Jiao who was my science elective classmate. Manila High section 1 was represented by Patricia Ismael who is a comedian (real name Christina Ismael).

I would say PLM is a young and progressive university having been established in 1967. Our professors also teach in other prestigious universities such as De La Salle University (DLSU) and University of Santo Tomas (UST). Some of our famous alumni are Michael V the entertainer, Leonardo Gapol Battle of the Brains finalist, Brilliante Mendoza the director, Aicelle Santos the broadway singer and Sovietskaya Bacud the beauty queen. Vice Mayor Isko Moreno pursued his Master's degree at the PLM College of Law.

Manila Science High School was represented by Leonardo Gapol, my blockmates Sonny Viduya, John Bonto, probably more. Jeyxa Villa and Jane Kindica were high school classmates i believe. Joel Espanol graduated from V. Mapa High School beside Centro Escolar University (CEU). My friend Rommel Austria studied at Sacred Heart Academy of Novaliches (Sacre). Maricor Nicolas, Erwin Ciar, Rodel Rivas, Glen Ariola were graduates of Ramon Magsaysay High School.

There were others who came from private and christian schools. Those who graduated valedictorian and salutatorians were given full scholarships. I was a scholar having graduated from public school but i pay the miscellaneous fee. My university tuition costed less than 10,000 pesos or 200 US Dollars.

My grade in Trigonometry was 1.75 Algebra 2.50 Chemistry 2.50 Physics 3.00. Ask my professors they know me. Mr. Fronda gave me a 5.00 a failing grade in Calculus. I did not understand it. My dad says it was okay. Mr. Antonio Sobrevinas gave me two failing grades. I should master Geometry before i can understand Calculus. I was given a 4.00 an incomplete grade in Transportation Engineering meaning I work extra. I didn't mind it at all because i met the lovelies of the fourth year students Girlie Parumog, Meann, Josephine Doinog, Teri and the male students were cool.

I designed the colors of my Volt Bot battlebot in honor of PLM my alma mater.
