Creamline leads 1-0 in Best of 3 Semis
Head-to-Head
Setters:
Creamline - Jia De Guzman
Choco Mucho - Deanna Wong
Both are/were National Team players and De Guzman is not old. Both setters are in their prime and are experienced. Wong may be the better blocker and better digger but I'll give De Guzman a slight advantage in setting. It comes down to familiarity and chemistry.
Wingers (Open Hitters /Opposite Hitter):
Creamline - Alyssa Valdez, Jema Galanza, Diana Mae Carlos
Choco Mucho - Isa Molde, Des Cheng / Ponggay Gaston, Kat Tolentino
The Creamline core have been together for sometime now so I'll give them chemistry. In blocking, Choco Mucho may have the advantage but if the shorter wings of Creamline can deflect the ball for easy digs and receive, it's worth as much as a point. I'll give the digging advantage to Creamline because tall players like Tolentino have difficulty digging the ball. Unless she plays like 4T of Vietnam in defense. When it comes to scoring, who can kill the ball more effectively? I'll give the slight advantage to Creamline because they are consistent. Choco Mucho has Tolentino but their Open Hitters should improve.
Middle Blockers:
Creamline - Jeanette Panaga, Celine Domingo
Choco Mucho - Aduke Ogunsanya, Bea De Leon / Cherry Nunag
The Creamline MBs received solid playing time while for Choco Mucho, they toggle between BDL and Cherry Nunag in addition to Aduke Ogunsanya. I'll give the blocking advantage to Choco Mucho and scoring to Creamline.
Libero:
Creamline - Denden Revilla
Choco Mucho - Kyla Atienza
I'll give the advantage to Creamline because Revilla has the experience over Atienza in digging, receiving and setting.
Overall it's not much of an advantage for Creamline because chemistry is instantaneous. Choco Mucho can get that so this makes them dangerous because they are the taller team.
