Ernest Felicilda calms down the nerves of the NU Bulldogs amidst a furious assault by Jerom Lastimosa in the 4th quarter to eke out a 71-69 grind it out win over the Adamson Falcons. It was a balanced attack from the Bulldogs which had 9 players scoring 5 points or more. Both teams have a deliberate approach on the game, following their motion offense. The Bulldogs outside shooting and fastbreaks have them leading in the first canto 19-13. The Bulldogs then slowly built a 10-point lead at the half 38-28. NU has to move the ball around as Adamson has a tough interior defense mainly because of import Lenda Dounga who had 5 blocks in the game. Rookie Didat Hanapi was the lone bright spot for the Soaring Falcons who was breaking ankles and scoring while his teammates were not hitting open 3s. In the third quarter though, Lastimosa and Joem Sabandal woke up and hit from outside that from a score of 48-34, Adamson drops a 10-0 blast that made the game close up to the end game. Lastimosa summoned his old folks to become the 4th quarter man. He kept the balls to himself and drove to the basket. The Falcons were briefly successful as they led 62-59. However the Bulldogs were not going away. They matched the Falcons basket for basket. The Falcons' Vince Magbuhos and Ricky Perominga missed 4 crucial free throws in the last 3 minutes or so. Felicilda, Jake Figueroa and import Issa Gaye connived with timely hits to beat Adamson 71-69. Felicilda finished with 14 points while teammates RJ Minerva and John Lloyd Clemente had 8 tallies apiece for the Bulldogs. Hanapi had 20 points, Lastimosa 18, Sabandal 11 and Douanga 11 for the Falcons.
