Now a major motion picture starring Piolo Pascual and Andrea Brilliantes.
Chapter One: LUIS
October 2014. At the terminal of Tamaraw F/X taxis going to SM Megamall at C.M. Recto corner Morayta Streets. There was a man walking with a worried look in his face. He boarded the taxi at the passenger seat at the front. [The song went "Shoulder up to shoulder we shared that 9 o’clock ride, I was a commuter on the 804, Worked for a computer on the 19th floor".] I saw the most sexiest woman i have ever seen. She sat by my side. Damn we shared that ride for almost two hours going to Ortigas business district not only shoulder up to shoulder but also the hips, the arms and the legs. Thank God for traffic. She was a yuppie or what we call a young professional and was busy on her phone. I figure it was work because she opened her organizer. I looked at her. She was beautiful. Definitely my type. Right at my office on the second floor. That is what i remember until she boarded off. Demmit. I should have talked to her. Too obvious. After one building i went after her. I climbed the stairs of the building she went into and found a parking area. Que sera sera. In my life of 39 years i was still a bachelor and was looking for a job. I walked glumly to my scheduled interview. Its okay. I worked abroad and i was unemployed for a year now. My savings were dwindling. I sent 100 emails but there were only few answers. I could send two hundred or three hundred. I worked in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, UAE and Palau. Girls can wait. They were everywhere. I believe in marriage but i have to be independent and responsible as a family man. I was an engineer who graduated in PLM or University of the City of Manila, one of the prominent government schools. I guess it is up to par with the top universities because our instructors come from them. School was tough we have to maintain a gwa of 2.50 so we make it as regular students. Thank God i passed the PRC License Board Exam on my first try. My classmate Tom Carlos get drunk on the examination day and did not pass. He passed eventually. I don't know. My life was unsatisfactory. Probly life has a straight road sometimes, other times winding, many bus stops and you go the road less traveled. I worked at David M. Consunji Incorporated (DMCI) as On-the-job Trainee (OJT) at Tutuban. They were building a mall there. I was monitoring concrete piles being driven into the soil. They were one of the foundation types. Then i was drawing pile coordinates. I can't say i like this but i have to. I need money. Bored i was singing Barry Manilow. [And......... I'mmmm........ Ready to take the chance again ready to put my life on the line with you]. I went out the door of the container van my office mates were grinning. The hell those fockers were listening! I was pleased when a woman helped me draw. You know its good to talk to women. I did not get regular at DMCI because I said they were my stepping stones. I drifted to the company known as Asian Appraisal. I get to places i have never been. Usually Metro Manila and the outskirts. I know a celebrity who owned a condo in Glorietta at Makati City. There was a basketball player who keeps his other woman in Paranaque. I was freelancing nowadays. I do estimates for an overseas company. Quantity Surveying. I thought this would do until i get hired abroad.
(I am unable to update the story because i received a restraining order, to cease and desist, from threatening or causing harm to the petitioner who shall not be named. I the respondent shall not go 50 meters or less from her effective 15 days from September 21, 2018.)
Chapter X:
However never did it entered my mind that people in Manila have bad attitude. Here is what happened. When I boarded out of the bus, I saw this big picture of my idol action star FPJ, together with a lady with tantalizing eyes that seems to seduce me. I immediately entered the enclosure and realizes it is a theater which shows shows. The cashier is beautiful and I can see her legs which is white okay. But what bad attitude she has when she teared my ticket. I was extremely hurt so I did not wait for her explanation and I went away not looking back.
I was hungry so I looked for a place to have food and I am fortunate to have found one in a cool place where there is an image of a red colored bee. So this is how it is in Manila, the local people eats even the bees. I am not picky so I was not discouraged to enter. In our province, we even eat snakes and lizards. Before I passed the entrance though, is I removed my pair of slippers which is the custom in our province. They seem nice because they greet me Good Morning a number of times. They did not force me to eat bees and I am quite satisfied with the chicken, I even eat it with my bare hands. However when I went out, I cannot find my slippers. I was saddened once more and quietly went away.
Not so far away is a crowd that is gathering. They have flags, dancing, singing and shouting. They waved at me and I am encouraged to join them in dancing, singing and shouting. I am ecstatic when they give me the microphone so I am all the more energized. I am already happy in the company of my new friends when the police came and hauled us to prison. I am sad and questioned myself - it is really how it is here in Manila, they are bad people? They even asked me if I am member of a militant group when I only just arrived from the province. Tsk tsk tsk.
So now they set me free. I thought I just go home with my bitter experience. But no, I will not tell Mama about this. My dearest Mama, I do not want her to know that all what she worked for in giving me a present went for naught. Absolutely, that is I what I do. Goodbye now, cruel Manila."

Chapter X:
My Sassy Girl loves excess baggage. One time we planned to spend our day at the Enchanted Kingdom. It is our Disneyland. We gas up at Caltex and she pities this ragged man who was sitting at the curb. We were about to eat at the restaurant when she tugs at me. Nope he might be dangerous. Was he crying? So we dined and left the restaurant. He was not outside. We saw him walking drearily on the highway. He has that pained look. Yeah i guess we can give him a lift. He was not what i have expected. Here is his story:
"My name is Candido, grew up in Santo Tomas in the province of Batangas. These buildings in Manila are so tall compared to our town in which you only see carabaos and farmlands. I have been wanting to get here in Manila but because we are poor I cannot afford it to go here. I really appreciate it that my Mama gives me this present in my twenty-first birthday.
However never did it entered my mind that people in Manila have bad attitude. Here is what happened. When I boarded out of the bus, I saw this big picture of my idol action star FPJ, together with a lady with tantalizing eyes that seems to seduce me. You wanna go with us to the Enchanted Kingdom?
Chapter XX:
Her wearing of two-piece swimming suits was one of the things we fought about. I complained why can't you wear one-piece swimming suits. I did not understand that she was a model. That she markets herself. You can make arguments about it but she is her own woman. She lets me know that she has outgrown one-piece swimming suits. With sarcasm of course. She could have told me about it but hey she has to wear a one-piece swimming suit to prove a point. Women... the best that you can do is fall in love.
Chapter XXX:
So I called her yesterday. February 1 is our anniversary. We know one another 4 years now. She said yes.
